The Kala KA-TEM is certainly one of the best choices under $200 for those looking for an great sounding, easy playing ukulele with some asthetic charm!
The Exotic Mahogany Tenor is undoubtedly a contender as far as tone and playability. After our set up, it has a smooth feel, good intonation, and the warm projecting tone you would expect.
The mahogany has a very appealing flamed pattern to it similar to what you would commonly see in a maple or koa instrument. The black binding finnishes the instrument off nicely.
The tuners are geared with a closed back to ensure a long life and plenty of stability.
This would be my pick for "best tenor ukulele under $150". Great sound, nice looks, flamed grain pattern, easy playability; how can you go wrong?

Marvelous ukulele

As a beginner to playing ukulele I was interested in buying an instrument that would be satisfying to play and would inspire me to continue playing. The Kala KA-TEM has more than met this criteria. I've had it for 1 week and have already fallen absolutely in love with this instrument. Kudos to Kala and the craftsmanship that is evident in this build.
