These Kala tenor resonator ukuleles have a very unique voice.  The mahogany body (with F-holes) blends nicely with the aluminum resophonic cone and brass cover to produce a bold and chunky tone.  

The body is bound with a classy celluloid strip that blends nicely with the pearl style Kala headstock inlay.  Geared tuners hold pitch well and are easy to dial in.  The bridge is maple (seated in a rosewood biscuit) and the nut is Nu-Bone.  This ukulele is strung with genuine Aquila strings.  The finish is a satin sunburst that allows some of the wood grain to show in a cool organic way!

So..................the sound of this uke is very rich and snappy.  It has a pleasant mix of what you would expect from a resonator (brassy with a nice mid-range bite) and the mellow woody tone of mahogany.  The uke is quite loud, but also has a good string to string balance without over-emphasis on any particular register.  It's great for strumming chords and standing out in a group, but also has pleasing results when fingerpicked or played chord melody style.  

SETUP:  This ukulele ships fully set up and adjusted, and will be ready to go out of the box.  

Our set-up includes nut and bridge saddle adjustment, string  action adjustment,  fret polishing and leveling (as needed), and overall evaluation of the instrument for any flaws in manufacturing or craftsmanship.
